Thanks for the comments guys, @sibo373 I think i've found a Pires replacement! @Rico my aims are simple, to survive, I want a finish of 14th or higher, I'm predicted 22nd.
Half Season Update - 2013/14 - Serie B
New club captain Pierfrancesco Garzya is the only player who costs money, a cool £85k from Brindisi, our entire budget (Yes I know I'm broke but I couldn't not sign him!) We raid Swiss amateur clubs Lausanne and Compesieres for a new striker, Giuseppi Bua and a new keeper, with 20 eccentricity, Stefano Santagelo. In addition, we sign a full Ghana international striker on a free transfer after his release from Leverkusen, Isaac Awuah. In terms of other transfers, squad depth was the key and in most areas it has been achieved. Some players left I didn't want to lose, notably Bruscagin and Felci, but their wage demands were too high. A lot retired too, unfortunately including Inzaghi who made a late decision to call it a day.
Yes! 3rd year running we draw them, and this time we do it! Bari are favourites for Serie B so thats a fantastic win in the cup, now to get further progress.
We start the league in scintillating form, Awuah netting five against Bari, my new Pires. AlbinoLeffe was a match of absolute epic proportions, very enjoyable but nerve wracking to watch at the same time. We are top despite the blip against Modena.
Still top but another blip against Reggina. Cesena are our closest rivals, but we defeat them, a good prelude to the upcoming cup tie.
Unsurprisingly, we aren't still top after a horrible month. Beating Padova now seems to come naturally, but with Garzya and Awuah injured, it's a lot harder. The returning Garzya sets up the equaliser in the 88th minute against Cesena in the cup, and we win it easily after they go down to 10 in extra time. We face AC MILAN AT THE SAN SIRO IN JANUARY.
We slip further and further as Lazio take over now at the summit alongside Bologna, they both have retained most of their Serie A players, something I knew would tell as time progressed. Even so, losing to Crotone is inexcusable in the extreme.
League Table and Stats
I can't complain at being 4th and clinging onto the coat tails of the top 3.
We're all about Awuah and Garzya, we need some depth for when they don't play through injuries, and I will be looking in January.

@AussieOchoa Ochoa so what and @rossi I couldn't find one with high flair!
Second half of season update - Serie B
I said we needed to strengthen, so I decided to get in a lot of loans. Daniel Tommasi and Henry Charnock (an Italian international - yes weird) join to strengthen the defence while Yiadom Boakye is the key to strengthening the attack for the remainder of the season, although Dekkers will also be useful.
Gutted to lose at the San Siro! We ran them so so close after being 2-0 down but the introduction of Tevez and Pato ended the game in extra time, the two combining to set up Nocerino.
A perfect month, some fantastic results! We fly back into contention at the top of the league, could we do it?
Damn Reggina! They destroy the chances of another perfect month, but Boakye is doing fantastically up front and this season gets better and better.
Not such a good month, but by heck I'll take it, as we are still up there as we enter the final month.
We lost to Lazio, what a shame that was, despite dominating the game, 22 corners. Those 3 draws though mean we trail in behind Lazio on results against, a bit of a shame but what a fantastic season.
League Table and stats
Boakye did what I wanted him to do, a great contribution, as did Tommasi, and as predicted Dekkers was useful when played.
The big surprise is Bari, unable to avoid relegation (they lost the playoff) despite being predicted as league winners. Bologna join me and Lazio in Serie A.
An apology to my board
We sold out 20 of 21 games this season. I guess the new stadium is right! Sorry board

A Sniper crawls along a forest floor, A match grade barrel to do his chore, Blending with the woodland scene, He leaves no trace of where he's been.
A single task occupies his mind, To the outside world he is blind, One single task, one single goal, Only his mission occupies his soul. He moves into the open grass, The enemy patrol makes a searching pass, although they look, they cannot see, The man moving out from a distant tree.
One hour, two, three then four, He only moves a few feet more, Zero hour is getting near, He knows his target will soon appear. A single man he has been sent to kill, and on his hands this man's blood will spill, The moment is now, the target's in sight, Taking up the first pressure the shot feels right.
One ounce more in the trigger sear, The bullet races away like a high speed spear, It races through the air with a thunderous crack, There's a fountain of blood as it exits the man's back. The silence is deafening theres not a single sound, as the shooter removes the case of the single spent round, His task now done he fades back into the wood, His only trace is a body where a man once stood.

thanks @AussieOchoa Ochoa and @Steve, @Rico as @Yamo says the budget is around £35-40m. My finances are a little improved but not great, however ticket price has leapt from £19.30 average to £43.30 average and the new stadium is complete so finances should go from strength to strength.
@Manno I'm just playing normally on 3d, had a lot of free time a couple of days ago and managed a season in a day
@Cam surprisingly nowhere big: Austria, Sweden, Finland, Switzerland and Italy, and have just added Norway, Belgium, Denmark and Holland for Serie A player finding!

A strong pacey centre back was a must, therefore signing Almeback, while Martel is a fantastic loan. Velthuizen as keeper gives me the experience I need there (note these screenshots are 2 seasons later).
Welcome to Serie A. Ouch!!
Welcome to Serie A Mark 2. Lazio offered some welcome respite, but this is a nightmare. We sit last.
Very strange, we needed one win and suddenly we believe as we climb into 18th place by the end of October
We continue to climb, and progress in the cup with some great results, two 4-3's against Bologna in less than a month isn't too bad, entertaining at least.
In what is a horrid run of games, we should have had 9 points. We led 2 games and drew them then got an amazing win at home to the holders! YES!
A long month but Genoa and Palermo do us over again. Other than that, we don't do too badly, beating rivals Parma as we climb into the top 12.
Three poor results, beating Napoli was good though, we seem to be fairly good in the league on occasion.
A mixed month, surprisingly beating Inter Milan but then losing 2 games to teams we shouldn't have lost to.
Finally a good month and we stop Genoa from beating us, we stop the rot, we had led 3-0 though. Beating Roma has to go down as possibly my best ever result.
And that's toppped by both these results, we cruise in in 5th place, what a fantastic first season in Serie A. Awuah is the reason.

Thanks everyone, really happy with how I am doing.
SEASON UPDATE 2015/16
To push for the Champions League extra strength was needed, and we signed a former Liverpool left back, Emiliano Insua for a nice low price, and Younes Belhanda on a free is fantastic business for wing competition for Vander. Rene Tepperik is a record signing, and an absolutely quality player for this club.
We started early, and promisingly, disposing of tricky Trabzonspor in easy fashion at home after a tough away fixture, Sampdoria looked shocking when we faced them, surprised they scored.
Still unbeaten, and with those Serie A games mid month that is some feat. We are doing great in Europe too, although not handed the hardest group.
The month it came unstuck. Novara are my closest rivals and seem to have the curse over me. I can't shake it or beat them. Liverpool should win the group with ease.
Or not? We beat them at home so we move back level on points with the Reds. The league slide is arrested before thumping Cagliari.
Two easy wins weren't enough to overhaul Liverpool on goal difference and they win the group, we go through in 2nd, and slump before Christmas against Roma.
I threw the cup against Siena to concentrate on the league. That's a lie. They smashed me. Barstards. Atalanta are going to end up champions.
Two crushing defeats, but we progress in Europe despite defeat in Russia. TAKE THAT NOVARA, SMASHED APART AT HOME.
Cruised past HSV, but not so with Palermo, and Liverpool teach us a lesson at Anfield. Need a miracle.
Errrr, we got that miracle, and Leverkusen promptly dump us out of Europe in the Semi Finals. Gutted. 4 league draws in a row hands Atalanta the title before the end of April.
We beat the champions, but it really is to no avail as we trail in some 10 points behind.
League Table - oh Doria, and the top 3 is silly.
Player Stats - it's Awuah again.
