How To Download & Use Database Files In FM11
Apr 06 2011 04:16 PM | Scorsese in FM Interactive
Basically thought that perhaps we could use one of these for anyone unsure of what to do to get any databases they have downloaded into a game.
First of all, download a database, such as Foxos fantastic Iberian League database, which can be found here. (Incidentally the thread containing more info about that database is found here.
Once the database has downloaded go into the download folder (where you have previously assigned downloads to be, could be your desktop, could be a specific downloads folder youve created, etc).
Next, copy cut or move the file you've just downloaded, in this case iberia2.dbc, to C:\Users\YOURCOMPNAME\Documents\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2011\editor data
Now we want to load FM11, and press new game. You'll notice that it allows you to select a version, and underneath the information it will say Editor Data Files x of x Enabled. Next to this is a box saying change;

Make sure that box is ticked, and press ok, which will take you to this next screen;

This screen shows every file that you have in the Editor Data folder that was mentioned earlier, and shows you information about each file, including the number of changes, and a description. Simply tick the ones you want for your new game, untick the ones you dont want active, and then press confirm at the bottom right, which will take you into the usual game configuration screen, for selected nations and db size etc.
Also, on the above screen you will notice that certain database files have a flag nxt to them. This means they are active in a specific nation. These can be anything from real fixtures, to a league enhancement (i.e. Ronaldinhoo's English level 12 db) or simply a revamp/restructure of the real leagues. These database files cannot be used simultaneously with another database file from the same nation, but they will run at the same time as other non-nation specific database files, or database files that are specific to a different nation, i.e. an England specific and Spain specific would run together.
